The One Thing You Need for a Successful Video Campaign
You’ve probably heard this a dozen of times, “You need to do video. It’s popular right now.” Blah, blah, blah.
The only thing you really need to know about video is that every social media algorithm wants you to be consistent.
THAT’S IT!
And if you have a business that is in the high six figures and above then it’s worth investing in.
TREAT VIDEO ALGORITHMS LIKE NEEDY ROMANTIC PARTNERS
YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, etc., want users to spend the maximum amount of time on their platform. They don’t care if the content is about the intricacies of how a law gets passed in Congress or how to do a new dance.
Eyeballs are eyeballs!
Here’s an example of a video we did in a series for law firm owners.
HOW MANY VIDEOS WOULD I NEED TO DO BEFORE THE ALGORITHM PICK UP MY VIDEOS?
When talking about satisfying the YouTube gods it is important to know that you have to be ULTRA consistent when it comes to uploads.
You MUST upload on the same day at the same time every week.
If you choose to do daily uploads, for a first-timer I’d advise against it, you must upload at the same time every day.
The goal is to achieve a 32 upload sequence before the bots start to recognize you as a viable suitor.
It’s really that simple.
WHAT IF I CAN’T GET YOUTUBE TO PROMOTE MY CHANNEL?
You must ask yourself this one question, “What is the goal of uploading my videos?”
If it’s to become the next YouTube sensation and make millions of dollars then you will have a long uphill battle ahead of you.
BUT if your goal is to gain authority in your community and start to build a video database that you can send prospective clients then this is for you.
HOW CAN I TRACK MY VIDEO CAMPAIGN’S SUCCESS?
Here’s a video RoseInk did for Ben Glass Law.
Within the first 30 seconds of a video, you NEED a call-to-action.
This CTA can be anything from asking for an email, giving the viewer a free download, ANYTHING to get them to take the first step into your ecosystem.
You will be showing the potential client that you are trustworthy and can be turned to for this specific problem.
Notice how we referred to the viewer as a potential client. Don’t look at one of your uploads and be discouraged that only 30 people watched it, that’s 30 potential buyers that can become true fans of you and your company.
HOW TO BUILD YOUR VIDEO ARSENAL?
The short version is to start with whatever you have.
If you’ve done a video interview before you’re ahead of the curb for a more formal video style.
If you have no video experience start talking into your phone about a cherished memory. This is a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera and deliver information.
YOUR PHONE IS YOUR GREATEST ALLY WHEN YOU’RE LEARNING TO PRODUCE VIDEO
As stated above, using your phone in very informal videos about your past is the way to go when learning how the sausage is made.
Think about how much anxiety you would have if you looked past the camera and saw a DP, a camera assistant, a gaffer, two grips, a few production assistants, and a director staring back at you.
(Alright, that’s stretching the truth, grips don’t care about what’s being filmed. They’ll probably be on their phones.)
But compare that situation to you in your favorite room with your phone, talking about when you got your driver’s license.
These are two VERY different scenarios.
HOW DO YOU TAKE YOUR VIDEOS TO THE NEXT LEVEL?
Okay! You’ve done a few weeks of training and you’re ready to actually produce a campaign, what’s next.
You must find a production company to produce the videos for you. That way you can just focus on the fun part, which is writing and shooting the video.
BONUS TIP!
Find a production company that will teach you everything during the processes. You need to learn how to fish rather than receiving a meal every day.
